Doug Milner, VERCOR Managing Director: Doug’s practice focuses on representing sellers of privately held companies; he offers unique experience to clients whose companies represent a strategic acquisition or consolidation opportunity for public or private buyers. Doug serves seller clients as a strategic advisor, working either with companies developing exit strategies or with ownership that is nearing retirement.   Doug’s client companies typically have enterprise values between $4 million and $50 million.

Doug’s transaction management career began on the buy-side in 1992, when he served as acquisitions and business development manager for Sanifill, Inc., a publicly traded environmental services company. At Sanifill, Doug’s responsibilities included the sourcing, analysis and execution of strategic acquisitions within the company’s Pacific Region (the assets of Sanifill are now a part of Waste Management, Inc.).  Doug’s buy-side experience adds significant value to each of his sell-side client engagements.

Doug’s industry experience is broad, bringing significant depth to his practice.  Doug has managed projects in numerous industries including; manufacturing, interactive media, renewable energy, precast concrete, homeland security, mortgage banking, value-added distribution, ready-mix concrete, mining, business services, and retail.  Through his work at Sanifill Doug’s experience also includes solid waste landfills, transfer stations, material recovery facilities, green & wood waste processing, and recycling operations.  Also unique to Doug’s practice is his operational knowledge.  Having founded, managed, acquired and sold companies on his own behalf, Doug brings personal experience with each phase of the business cycle to each client project.

Doug received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis.  He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and son in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and along California’s Coast.
