John F. Meyering, VERCOR Managing Director, launched his M & A career after twelve years of building his family’s privately owned truck rental and leasing company. During his leadership, the firm became the largest independently owned truck leasing company in the country with 50 million in revenues. The size, reputation, and success of the leasing company attracted the attention of multiple nationwide public companies and was acquired by a fortune 500 company in 1989. John was deeply involved in the sale process and was retained after the acquisition to provide transition support, consulting, and integration of the two companies.
As a seasoned deal maker, John has personally completed over 40 business transactions in a variety of industries. Areas of focus include manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and service businesses. His in depth knowledge of business transactions, effective marketing strategies, negotiating skills, financing options, and creative deal structuring have contributed significantly to his M & A success.
John graduated from Ferris State University in 1983 with a B.S. in Business Administration and completed the Dale Carnegie Human Relations Course. He also maintains a real estate broker's license and associate broker's license for the State of Michigan.
Professional memberships and associations include IBBA, MBBI, MBBA and CAR. John also serves on the board of directors for the MBBA.

John and his wife of 23 years reside in Caledonia, a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan, with their two children. Hobbies and interests include golfing, boating, skiing, mountain biking and reading. He is involved with Lutheran Child & Family Service of Michigan and is a member of Kentwood Community Church and active with their middle school “Impact” program.
