Business valuation is a well-established
conglomeration of intellectual properties and
processes used to determine the fair-market value of
a going concern. In a skeptic’s eye it may appear that
the valuation industry, or litigation-support industry as
some may call it, is merely a series of smoke-and-
mirrors arranged in such a way as to win a debate for
the sake of personal gain. The skeptic may be
correct—after all, doesn’t that pretty much describe the
U.S. court system?

Vercor recently held their Winter Conference on
February 8 and 9, 2007 in Amelia Island, Florida. All of
the offices participated in the intensive two day
program. The conference featured panel
discussions, presentations and case studies on
topics of relevance and importance in the delivery of
merger and acquisition advisory service - which is
the purchase, sale, merger, divestiture and valuation
of mid-size private companies. Topics included
current M&A Trends, prevailing deal pricing and terms,
debt and equity finance, compliance, effective cross
border marketing, and ethics. The firm conducts
conferences
biannually to continuously expand the knowledge,
network and ability of their professionals to better
serve their clients.
